I don’t think they are a good idea.  Fruit is basically sugar… it isn’t bad sugar as it is natural, but consumed in large quantities can cause problems.  There was a long-term study done that high fruit diets can lead to insulin resistance, diabetes, fatty liver disease, abdominal obesity, kidney damage, and so much more.  You need to balance fruits, veggies, carbs, and proteins because they are all essential for your body to function properly.
